How to Configure Oracle Database Users Authentication Through Windows Active Directory

From Oracle Database 18c onwards, Oracle implemented years long expected new feature called Centrally Managed Users (CMU), which allows Oracle users authentication through Microsoft Active Directory (AD).

The Oracle Database users can be authenticated through Active Directory using one of the following methods:

  • Password authentication
  • Kerberos authentication
  • SSL authentication

  • Windows 2019 Active Directory domain controller.
  • Oracle Database 19c.
  • Oracle 19c client on Windows.
